Laura Bruno is a trainer, speaker, and referral consultant. She is an authority on how to increase your business by utilizing word-of-mouth marketing.
Laura is also a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst, which means that she has spent thousands of dollars and thousands of hours learning about DISC and behavioral styles. She is certified in DISC and works with individuals and companies to understand more about themselves and others. The skills that are learned in this work result in finding easier ways to approach and meet people, better and deeper personal and professional relationships, networking more effectively, and increasing sales revenues. Laura has been teaching effective networking and referral marketing for over 3 years with the Referral Institute and the Referrals for Life curriculum. She is an active member of the local Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, BNI Ambassador, previous Rotarian, and has assisted several other local non-profit and networking organizations. Laura retired after 21 years at Pacific Bell/SBC/AT&T. Her career was spent in sales and marketing. She was the recipient of many awards including the Presidents Club Award and the coveted Pinnacle Award.

REFERRAL INSTITUTE COMPANY STORY
Today, the Referral Institute is a franchise company in over 20 countries. In the beginning, the forming members of the Referral Institute were also a part of an organization called Business Network International, BNI. The Directors of BNI saw a need for additional referral marketing training, Dr. Ivan Misner began cultivating material that would train business professionals specific procedures on referral based marketing. Dr. Misner's many books on the subject led to creating Certified Networker, a 12 module training program that allows participants to receive the foundational knowledge that they need for a referral marketing plan for their business.
Receiving high accolades from the participants, newcomers training the program wanted more support, more materials and higher standards on everything. Soon, many Directors were asking to train this material and Certified Networker became a registered name and a licensed product. Dr. Misner, Art Radke, and Michael Garrison began creating more customized material. He is a monthly columnist for Entrepreneur.com and has taught business and social capital courses at several universities and sits on the Board of Directors for the Colorado School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Misner is on the Board of Directors for the Haynes Children Center. He is the Founder of the BNI Misner Charitable Foundation and was recently named "Humanitarian of the Year" by the Daily Bulletin. He is married and lives with his wife Elisabeth and their three children in Claremont, CA. In his spare time!!! he is also an amateur magician and a black belt in karate.
